Title: PTZ/NDI Camera not on VLAN

Equipment: PTZ/NDI Cameras

Introduction: Goal is to Reinstate communication of the PTZ/NDI Camera being off network.

Identify the Problem

Symptoms: Camera has lost communication to the Network and needs to be re-establish

Possible Causes:  Camera has been reset to default IP or currently having power/signal issues

Isolate The Issue

Step 1:  Launch Studio Monitor and see if the camera is listed.

Step 2:  If not listed, Run Angry IP to see if IP comes up as an establish connection. Check workbook to confirm what IP you are looking for. (IP ex.192.168.100.101)

Step 3: If unable to resolve using the above, go to resolve the problem

Resolve The Problem

Step 1:  Notify the POC that the camera is unable to be located on the network. You will have to coordinate with them to fix the issue.

Step 2:  Customer will need to find the power supply. Depending on the camera location, The customer will have to unplug the power supply (PULL POWER FROM THE OUTLET, NOT THE POE INJECTOR! SPARKS WILL FLY!)

Step 3: Wait 15 seconds to plug in the power supply (POE injector) and the ethernet cable.

Step 4: If camera does not come back online to the VLAN, We will need a laptop and a Ethernet cable for the next few steps.

Step 5: Grab laptop and ethernet cable and plug the ethernet cable into the same port that the camera plugs into, If you are not getting internet, there is a cable issue with the fiber or the ethernet run (depending on camera location. Most CF Cameras are on fiber, other cams usually have Cat6e). If you do have internet, please continue to the next step

Step 6: Set your ethernet port to static and see if there is a connection from the laptop to the camera by plugging the laptop into the POE injector. Example. If camera's IP address is 192.168.20.150, set your IP on your laptop to 192.168.20.101. If this doesn't work, you will most likely need to use the default IP to get access back to the camera (research online default IP)

If this does not solve your issue, escalate and/or possibly schedule a site visit.
